I am a Textile Artist whose practice explores place and the role of the body in understanding our environment.
I am particularly interested in the sensory nature of human perception and my textile work explores the experience of sight, sound and touch within our surroundings.
Cloth is central to my practice. However, an engagement with other materials soak and stain, stiffen and fold, puncture and score to produce an evocative cloth that prompts us to perceive familiar environments in a new way.
I was formerly trained as a classical musician and am now currently studying for an MA in Contemporary Textiles at the University of Hertfordshire.
I exhibit regularly with the textile groups - Place: Sight, Sound; Phoenix Contemporary Textile Group; Studio 21.
